Websites like Skills to Succeed Academy and Barclays Life Skills give you an opportunity to gain work experience while highlighting the essential skills you might need.
The National Careers Service and FutureLearn have a list of free online courses you can complete to develop new skills.
YouTube is also a great resource to start learning a new skill without having to commit to any subscriptions or fees. You can find an abundance of free tutorials and communities. Whether you want to learn about coding, graphic design, entrepreneurship or anything else, YouTube is one of the best places to start.

Many colleges and universities provide seminars/lectures to people outside of their institutions. Details of these can usually be found on their website. Degrees and college courses are also an option. You may be eligible for funding from student finance or the institution you are looking to attend. Croydon College offers a wide range of courses from entry-level to degree level.
CALAT provides education to adults living in Croydon. Their Learner Support Fund can pay up to 90% of the course and exams fees upfront, for learners who have a household income of less than £27,000. Individuals need to register for the course online, before embarking on the enrolment process.
